District Profile
Hamirpur is one of the
oldest district since 1823. Presently it is under the Chitrakoot Dham division of
Uttar Pradesh. It is situated in the south of state capital Lucknow at the distance about
150 kms. and 68 kms from Kanpur. It is also called the gateway of Bundelkhand. On 11th
Feb. 1995 hamirpur was divided and a new district Mahoba was created comprising tehsil
Mahoba, Charkhari and Kulpahar from Hamirpur district.
